Washington State Federal Depository Libraries Meeting
At 10:30 a.m. a meeting of the federal depository libraries in Washington State was convened by regional librarian Herrick Heitman. Copies of the Washington State Plan for Federal Depository Library Service, 2005 Revisions with Blog Comments were distributed. This 2005 draft, containing revisions to the 1998 revised plan, was the work of Washington State Plan Committee members Herrick Heitman, Cassandra Hartnett, Robin Clausen and Carlos A. Diaz; and included comments that had been submitted in blog format by depository library coordinators. Washington State Plan Committee members lead a discussion regarding suggested revisions to the 2005 draft. The plan was examined section by section until a consensus was reached regarding content, and all requested changes had been addressed. Herrick assumed responsibility for incorporating changes and sending a final draft of the plan to all depository libraries in Washington State by email. In additions, modifications to the appendices will be solicited by Herrick and discussed via email.

Business Meeting and FDLP Update

At 2:45 p.m. the Fall 2006 meeting of the Northwest Government Information Network began. Minutes from the November 7, 2005 and April 4, 2006 meetings were approved.

Treasurer Judy Solomon, unable to attend the meeting due to bad weather conditions, submitted a report by email indicating there were $545.00 available in the account.

A discussion of information and presentations provided at the October FDLP Conference. followed. Most of the conversation focused on the future of government printing and the role of depository libraries, due to substantial cuts in funding for GPO.
