Lunch at the Burke Museum Café
Lunch Notes: the Burke Museum Café, located just across the parking lot from William H. Gates Hall, is a small establishment serving pre-made salads and sandwiches. We probably cannot all sit together, but we can form small groups. It has a lovely atmosphere and the 18th century pine paneling is a nice contrast to the modern Gallagher Law Library. |

Business Meeting and FDLP Update
ked Peggy for the programs and library tour. Attendees introduced themselves and talked about their libraries. Several attendees to the FDLP conference mentioned that new FDLP staff arranged this conference; it was not very well organized; sessions were great, content was good; there were large issues going on in different sessions which needed a wrap-up session and there was none.

Judy asked if she needed to update the membership roster. This led to a discussion of NGIN, the depos discussion list, the relation (or not) between the two and if there is a need for an NGIN list. We decided we should have an NGIN discussion list and Marilyn will ask Carlos to set it up.
Judy moved to offer $25 to libraries to cover costs of food at our meetings and to pay for speakers’ lunches by giving $10 to speakers or have someone else pay for their lunches and be reimbursed. The motion was seconded and carried.
Election of Officers - Marilyn Von Seggern
Cass nominated Herrick as President-Elect. The motion was seconded and carried. Herrick’s term will begin after today’s meeting. In order to align the election process with the By-laws, he will become President after the spring meeting. We will also elect other new officers in the spring.
GODORT Nomination
Cass wants to nominate Sue Selmer, a long time government documents librarian at Everett Public Library, for the Bernadine Abbott Hoduski Founders Award. Cass will get the nomination material together and asked people who knew Sue to send testimonials about Sue and her work to Cass to include in this material. Herrick will contact Arlene Weible and look through past inspection reports to find material to add. > Herrick will continue to conduct site visits to the state depository libraries.
Next meeting
Herrick will plan the program for our spring 2005 meeting. Tentative date is May 2, 2005; tentative choices are Central Washington University, Gonzaga University Law Library, or Whitworth College.
